One small moment, A half-second slip. Life thrown into another dimension. A flood, a tangled web, A never-ending conversation. Lost, and restless, and listless. Mortal coil invaded, reclaimed. Fundamentally unchanged, Yet never the same. Living in a fog, Life narrowed to nothing. Life… narrowed… to nothing. Bodies etched in pain. Bones tell the stories of lives, Turned to dust. Lives turned to dust, To tell the tale. Lost. And restless. And listless.
Rage Demon 02:21
Summoning, drawing, Up from the ground. Fingers grow cold, No sight, no sound. Heat rises, blunt senses-- The hate in my heart, For the world that won’t change. Burning in the pit of my stomach, The Rage Fiend. Vision grows dark, My body’s not mine. This room is on fire, Feel it in my spine. Overcome with the strength of the sun, The Rage Demon claims me. And with the transformation done, On my soul the fiend feeds.
This place is not a place of honor. No highly esteemed deed is commemorated here. Nothing valued is here. What is here was dangerous and repulsive to us. This message is a warning about danger. The future has arrived. As we stand on the edge, Will we crash or fly? We are a moment away, Maximum destruction. Are we human or prey? Is nothing sacred? No sanctity in life or death. Digging into the earth, ripping to shreds. It’s built on the backs of the dead. Here on this land, Where your home stands, They massacred mothers, fathers, generations. What makes you think they won’t do it again? This place is a message, And part of a system of messages. Pay attention to it. ***The spoken word portion of this track is taken from the long-time nuclear waste warning messages printed in a 1993 report “Expert Judgment on Markers to Deter Inadvertent Human Intrusion into the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant.”
Dead-Eyed and Hollow Where is my joy? No place for it here. Facing a future of terror, Dagger in the flesh. Feed our children to the war machine, Let the military contractors drink their blood. Economy that runs on decimation, Let our thriving overlords drink their blood. Is it so hard to not live a futile existence? Is it so hard to lessen their suffering? And I’m as guilty as anyone else, It’s my own pride that takes the blame. Is it so hard to do the right thing? Is it so hard to do the right thing?
